Coldstream

Rhododirect Gardens

Our History

Set on 1 hectare of land, you walk through the picket gate into the garden of Coldstream with its mature oaks, and silver birch creating height and breadth within the canopy, and large garden beds of established roses, camellias, and rhododendrons. The large pond, naturally filtered by Coldstream Stream provides a number of magical pathways full of restful spots to take in the grandeur of the property.
Spring gives wonderful displays of daffodils, tulips and many peonies as well as the magnificent colours of the rhododendrons and camellias.
Autumn also has a wonderful display of colours from the large oaks within the garden.

The Garden

The garden is only 24 years old but the good clay soils and abundance
of water have ensured a spectacular growth of all the plants.
Originally the farm was owned by Andrew’s grandparents. It later passed down to his uncle then
onto his cousin.
Sadly the farm was sold in 1990. The original homestead was moved to Peel Forest. The new
homestead and garden, Coldstream, was established in 1992.
In 2012 we were lucky enough to buy back the property and have the
Dalzell name against it once again.
